The new season is in full swing and we are delighted with the number of people who have come along to try bowls at our taster sessions, how well they have done and the large number of new members who have joined: a very warm welcome to you.
Our Saturday taster sessions are now finished but new members are encouraged to come along to informal roll-ups on Monday afternoons at 2.00pm and/or Friday mornings at 11.15am for some fun, instruction and encouragement.
ADVANCED NOTICE:
We shall be welcoming children and staff from Hexham Middle School to try out bowls from 9.00am-3.00pm on Monday 23rd and 9.00am-3.00pm on Tuesday 24th June. The green will be closed for general play at these times.

What's happening soon
It doesn't happen often but we have some closures of the green because of special events:
Friday June 20th: Northumberland v. Durham
The match begins at 1.30pm. This is a ladies county match so bowling will be of a high standard; come along to watch. The green will be closed all morning for preparation so it looks its best; open again in the late afternoon and evening.
We have invited children and staff from Hexham Middle School to try out bowls from 9.00am-3.00pm on Monday 23rd and 9.00am-3.00pm on Tuesday 24th June. The green will be closed for general play at these times.
Jumbles takes place on Saturday 7th at 1.45 for 2.00pm. £1 entry fee. 32 members played in it on 31st including half a dozen new members.
Monday afternoon and Friday morning roll-ups - all welcome!
at 2.00pm Mondays and 11.15am Fridays for a friendly roll-up or game, help support and encourage each other, and get some practice at the same time. For those wanting it we can help with understanding the different roles of a lead, second and skip; marking, scoring and measuring, techniques, tactics etc - all done with no pressure and loads of help. If the thought of joining in at Jumbles on a Saturday afternoon fills you with dread then this is for you. Tea and biscuits afterwards. Note: we won't be meeting if there is a tournament being played on Mondays - usually on bank holidays - or Fridays. We will not be meeting on Friday 20th or Monday 23rd - see details above.
