Nines League

After an absence of a few years we are back in the Nines League.

Following a membership consultation enough men have committed to being available for selection to play in this Northumberland Bowls League in 2025. 

Matches are expected to begin in April on Tuesday evenings at 7.00pm, 6.30pm in August matches.

Fashion Show

This will be one for the ladies when a leading fashion supplier will be visiting Hexham at the Club's invitation to show rail upon rail of fashions to suit all tastes.

Green Work

Work on Winter maintenance of the Green continues.

Mike, Pat and Peter brush, swish and aerate the green on a weekly basis, most weeks three times a week, to reduce wormcasts, dissipate dew and spike the green encouraging better drainage and root growth.

Jean's Service Recognised

We are delighted to announce that our very own Jean Allan was presented with a very well deserved lifetime achievement award at the Northumberland Women’s bowls luncheon at Kingston Park recently.  This award, a first for the organisation, was in recognition of Jean’s county service over many as player, president, committee member and selector. Jean also has a very long list of titles at both county and national level… too many to mention here. After the presentation by Sheila Storey and Margaret Maddison, Jean was given a standing ovation and a rousing rendition of “For she’s a jolly good fellow”.

Team Success

Our West Tyne League winning team came third in the Adult Team of the Year awards at the Sport Tynedale Awards Evening on December 8th at Hexham Mart. We were in excellent company and finished behind a deserved winner and runner-up. Well done to all club members who played in the league last season.
